Frostpunk is the latest game from the creators of This War of Mine. This is a game of social survival that asks the question: what are people on the brink of survival capable of? In a completely frozen world, people are developing steam engines to withstand the unbearable cold. The ruler of the city must manage both its inhabitants and the infrastructure in which they live. Tactical leadership skills will have to be tested by situations that call into question the moral foundations of what is considered to be a civilized society. Often, optimization and rational use of resources are on one side of the scale, and empathy and humanity are on the other. While the management of the city and society will take up the lion's share of the ruler's time, at some point the study of the outside world will become necessary to understand its history and current state.
What decisions will you make to keep society alive? What will you do when you reach the limit? And .... who will you become?
• THE CITY MUST SURVIVE. Frostpunk is a city survival game where warmth is life and every decision comes with a price. Your task is to build the last city on earth and provide people with everything necessary for survival.
• KEEP HOPE. Hope and the will to live are the keys to survival. The ability to awaken and maintain them in people will be a decisive factor in your success.
• MAKE LAWS. A society is a group of people who obey common laws and share beliefs. Pass laws that regulate the life of a growing population. Set working hours, provide medical care and food, and define other aspects of daily life.
• CHOOSE CAREFULLY. Some of your decisions - such as helping a villager in need or compromising with a new faction - may seem small, but remember that the sum of your actions can lead to unexpected results.
• DEVELOP TECHNOLOGIES. Survival is impossible without progress. Respond to current events, but do not forget about the long term and invest in development and technological progress. Creating an advanced infrastructure with self-contained automatons, aircraft and other marvels of technology will not be easy, but achievable
• EXPLORE THE FROZEN LANDS. While New London is always at the center of your attention, the world is much more diverse than what is within your city limits. Expeditions are risky, but can bring you important intelligence and valuable resources, as well as increase the population of your city. There can be people on the icy expanses, and their fate is entirely in your hands.
• FORM YOUR SOCIETY. When the turning point comes, be decisive and determine the path of your people. Will you rule with an iron fist... or will you show people the path of compassion and faith? Will you go to extremes or try to find a reasonable balance? Whatever you choose, remember: there is no turning back
• DON'T LIMIT TO THE CAMPAIGN. The main storyline may change depending on your play style, but this is not the only challenge you will face.
